Our Story

From the High Atlas to your home.

A quiet mission: bring authentic Berber craftsmanship to the world, while honoring the women and men who keep this art alive.

At Moroccan Berber Carpets, we partner directly with artisan weavers across the Atlas region to bring their craft to discerning homes worldwide. Every piece tells a story of tradition, skill, and timeless beauty.

Direct from the hands that wove them.

For decades, Berber carpets have passed through too many hands before reaching the buyer. We have worked, since 2008, to change that. Our team travels every season to the villages of Taznakht, Azilal, Ait Ouaouzguite, and beyond, meeting weavers in their homes, selecting pieces one by one, and paying artisans directly — above market rates.

"Each carpet carries the color of its mountain and the temperament of its weaver. No two are alike."

What you are buying.

A rug from our collection is never a mass-produced object. It is a work made with: one loom. A pair of hands. Two to six months of labor. Wool spun from the weaver's own flock or sourced from the village cooperative. Natural dyes — saffron, henna, pomegranate, indigo — or vegetable-dyed fibers. And a centuries-old repertoire of symbols, each one charged with meaning: the eye, the mountain, the lozenge of fertility, the protective fish.

The direct-trade promise.

Every piece we sell is traceable. We know the weaver. We know the village. And every order supports the artisan and their family — not an anonymous supply chain.
